Speechless... Boston Marathon

I really want to write about my first Boston marathon experience and how well my race went.  But every time I try to, I stop myself.  I am still in shock.  Had I ran the projected finish time my dad and I discussed prior to arriving at the start line, it would have put us just crossing after the first bomb went off.  Instead, we were a few short blocks away at the Arlington stations trying to get on the subway when, what should have been one of the best marathon experiences of my life, turned to chaos and confusion.

I will write more later this week or this weekend.  I am just glad everyone I personally knew running was accounted for.  It breaks my heart to think about the Innocent lives lost and Innocent people injured.

  1. Stephanie- I have been following your blog for some time now. I don't even know how I came across it years ago. I know I don't know you in real life, but you are the only person I "knew" who was there and with your entire family in attendance. Honestly, I've been waiting for you to post because I was worried for you guys! So glad to hear all is well with you and happy that you finished before the chaos. I qualified for Boston this January and hope to register and run next year, so the events were very surreal for me as well.

  2. I am a lurker of your blog and as soon as I heard about the bombs I thought of you and your family and prayed you were OK. I'm so happy to hear you're OK.

  3. Thank you! I've been asking on twitter, anybody know the girl from the Nest who was running? Is she ok? I don't follow the board everybody went to from the nest, so I've been hoping you were ok.
